Located on a very challenging wooded dune parcel with up to 55% slopes, this 3-bedroom home’s program requirements are largely shaped by setback, Michigan DEQ steep slope limitations and access for cars. Only 18% of this parcel was build-able area when all physical and legal limitations were imposed. The design of the home ultimately conforms to the resulting boundaries of the restrictions and in turn provides distinct areas from which to both view and be part of the surrounding tree canopies. This home was built using SIPS.
